The council recreated the Groom Creek wetland by diverting the stream that went straight down the fenceline of the Groom Creek planting area.
Much planting has been done on the hillside along with streamside and riparian planting, and also in the forebay.
Over 300 koura were translocated from Groom Creek, a torrent fish was spotted a little down stream and a 100 mm inanga was found which could be due to the removal of the ford at Almond Tree Flat.
